Sage 'Sebastian' (Salvia 'Sebastian') Herb in 1 litre Pot
Salvia Sebastian is a relatively new addition to the available salvia range and is is similar in size and flower shape to Salvia 'amistad' but with beautiful red flowers. It is a strong growing plant with attractive magenta red flowers on dark stems appear from late late to mid autumn and growing up to 90cm in height given the right growing conditions. Salvia 'Sebastian' prefers a sunny spot flourishing in a well drained border or in a large pot. It may be winter hardy in some regions but to be on the safe side we would recommend lifting moving in a pot to a sheltered spot or taking cuttings as a precaution. The ideal time for cutting back flowering shrub sages if left insitu, is the Spring once new growth can be seen and risk of frost has past. Cut up to half the plant back shaping as needed. If your Salvia is becoming leggy then a light summer cut may be required. Dead heading the old flowers will encourage new flowers all season.
