Strawberry 'Variegated'(Fragaria x ananassa 'Variegata') Herb in 1 Litre Pot
Variegated Strawberry or Fragaria x ananassa 'Variegata' is a twist on the original strawberry, and its beautiful green and cream foliage will give a splash of colour in the garden or container.
Planted in full sun to partial shade in fertile well-drained soil, Variegated Strawberries will fruit, although not in as large a quantity as the traditional strawberry. The tiny white flowers with yellow throats and stamens are pretty, but it is the foliage that is the real attraction.
Variegated Strawberries grow up to 10cm tall, creating spreading ground-cover. Plant in full sun as a ground cover or in containers where it can spill out gracefully over the edges.
Herb Usage
Use as you would a normal strawberry but great in a container on a patio or where space is tight as the variegated leaves add interest and are an added benefit to the fruit.
