Banana Mint (Mentha arvensis 'Banana') Herb in 9 cm Pot
Mentha arvensis 'Banana' or Banana Mint is a fully hardy perennial that is one of low growing, creeping mints, making it an attractive addition to the border or herb garden. Growing to 45 cm, the lime-bright leaves are heavy with the scent of mint and an aftertaste of banana.
Producing pale lilac flowers in whorls from summer to autumn, Banana mint is attractive to bees and butterflies, and will thrive in a bright sunny spot.
Herb usage
The leaves of Banana Mint are used as a culinary garnish for puddings and summer drinks, but also add a lovely fresh zing when used sparingly in salads.
