Sage recognita (Salvia recognita) Herb in 1 Litre Pot
Sage recognita is a woody based perennial from Turkey. It forms into a clump and has dark green leaves covered in hairs which gives it a silver cast it has pretty pale pink flowers which grow on spikes up to a metre high. Sage recognita prefers a sunny spot flourishing in a well drained border or in a large pot. The ideal time for cutting back flowering shrub sages, is the Spring once new growth can be seen and risk of frost has past. Cut up to half the plant back shaping as needed. If Sages are becoming leggy then a light summer cut may be required. Dead heading the old flowers will encourage new flowers all season.
