Some Herbs may be too tall for our standard packaging and will be trimmed to fit. This will not be detrimental to the plant but will mean that these herbs will flower later in the year.
The Blister packs used to protect our beautiful herbs during transit are made from 100% recycled plastic and can be recycled kerbside.
Thymes are grown the world over as it is such a versatile plant. It is drought tolerant - an overall easy-care plant.
Woolly Thyme as the name suggests has hairy leaves and reaches a height of 5cm the grey-green woolly leaves form an evergreen mat so it is suitable for planting in the rock garden, herb garden or the front of a border it will also make a very good container plant as it has a natural trailing habit. Try planting between pavers so when walked on or brushed past it will release its scent. It will produce pink flowers in summer but it is the woolly leaves that are the reason for growing this variety.
Thyme likes a well-drained light soil, and it should not be too rich in nutrients as this will only encourage the plant to grow 'leggy' and lose its compact shape, also ensure that the plant is cut back after flowering again to help maintain shape. Being a native of the Mediterranean it needs a place in full sun.
Woolly thyme is not really grown as a culinary variety but is an excellent herb for brightening up a herb garden as edging or as a feature plant, it is extensively used as a path thyme between flag stones and within turf. It is often found on rockeries as it is more decorative than culinary. Generally other varieties of Thyme were grown for their essential oils and have been used for many centuries medicinally to treat aches and pains and sprains.
Our potted Woolly thyme herb plants are generally available to buy online all year round.

Healthy and pretty plant. Doing well.
Delighted to receive my order so promptly, well packed, and such strong healthy plants. The scent of thyme was a delight as I opened the box. Fingers crossed they will forgive me for bringing them to the Far North West Highlands! No real fears, they look up for the challenge.
Came very quickly and plants were in good condition. Look even better now they've settled in.
