Agastache
There are many species of Agastache (Giant Hyssop) with two main varieties: Agastache Foeniculum (anise hyssop) and Agastache Rugosa (Korean mint) most commonly used as herbs.
Both herbs are made into herbal teas using their fresh fragrant leaves and blue/purple flowers.
The tall flowers can be used as a cut dried flower and are bee friendly, attracting both bees and butterflies.
Agastache (Giant Hyssop) is rich in nectar with a long flowering period making it a popular herb with bee keepers. Other varieties including Agastache Rupestris (liquorice mint) and Agastache Mexicana (Mexican Hyssop, sangria)are also bee friendly and all make good patio plants.
