Gold Award in the Cook and Grow Marquee at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show
What a successful outing for Hooksgreen Herbs – although a long journey down the M40 to London, we were delighted to be awarded a Gold Medal for our herb display in the Cook and Grow Marquee. A real crowd pleaser, it found favour with public and judges alike. We were awarded the Best Exhibit in the Cook and Grow Marquee presented by Sir Nicolas Bacon.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and it was rewarding to hear experienced and novice gardeners remark on the diversity of the herbs on display and the wonderful colour that can be achieved with herbs in pots. Some of the stand-out varieties were Ginger Mint, Vietnamese Coriander, Strawberry Mint, African Blue Basil and Sage ‘Oxford Blue’
Hooksgreen Herbs also put together an unusual display of Lavenders, all presented in baskets of varying shades, shapes and sizes (unknowingly pilfered from their wives homes!) Although only awarded a Bronze, The public were entranced by it, and were thrilled with the mischievous quality of the planting and placement. The sell off for the Lavender stand was a crush of the first order, and resulted in an angry wife with fewer baskets than she had at the beginning of the week!
