Rumex acetosa (French Sorrel) Herb Seeds
This French Sorrel is a perennial and is one of the first leaves to emerge in Spring it is used as vegetable similar to spinach, and excellent in salads and soups. Sorrel is well known for the grateful acidity of its herbage, which is most marked when the plant is in full season, though in early spring it is much, much less acidic, A bit like Spinach with a strong citrus twang! Keep cutting back to prevent flowering, and prolong harvesting.
Herb Usage
French Sorrel could be ready to harvest as early as end Feb given the right conditions great in a mixed leaf salad or as a soup or as an accompliment to oily fish.
Growing Instructions
Initially sow in Early Spring for spring and summer picking the first year and many years after that. Sow in pots or module trays in the Spring. Cover seed with vermiculite.Maintain min 15'C. Germination 10-20 days.
