Buchanan's Sage (Salvia buchananii) Herb in 9cm Pot
Salvia buchananii is a woody Herbaceous perennial that can grow to 60cm in height, with leathery, glossy, lance-shaped leaves and loose racemes of hairy, 2-lipped, tubular deep rosy-pink flowers to 5cm in length, borne in late summer. A lovely plant that is an excellent addition to any part of the garden, both the herb garden or the border. Also a great container plant, Coming originally from Mexico it is half -hardy and will require a sheltered position to grow in.
Herb Usage
Grown as a decorative border plant this sage is not renowned for culinary or medicinal use. it is best grown to admire the striking floral display which is also popular with pollinating insects.
