Wisley Flower Show
As September draws near, we all begin to think of our Autumn planting, and a visit to Wisley Flower Show will help inspire you to plan and prepare for next Spring.
One of our favourite shows, Wisley is always a riot of late summer colour, and is set in some of the finest gardens in the South East. They are well worth a visit in their own right, and are easily reached as they are situated near Woking in Surrey.
A prestigious Flower Show, we are very pleased to again be exhibiting our herbs here, with some of top nurseries and growers in the country. As always, we will have a wide selection of herbs ready for planting, but we would like to draw your attention to some of our favourites that look fabulous at this time of year.
Black Cohosh or Actea racemosa is a lovely perennial herb, which shows beautiful dark copper leaves, and is a wonderful architectural plant. It produces tall spires of creamy white scented flowers in late summer and can grow up to 2 metres. One of the more unusual herbs, and surprisingly hardy, Black Cohosh is certainly always very popular when we have it to show, and sells out fast!
A selection of flowering salvias will also be on display, and these little gems are a real show stopper with their delicate and colourful blooms and scented foliage. It is a good idea to buy your Salvias now, as they will benefit by being Autumn-planted in readiness for beautiful Spring and Summer colour.
Salvias are a wonderful addition to the border and make excellent specimen plants in a container, so are an excellent choice for long lasting impact through next year's season.
We would very much like to encourage you to visit our stand at his informal show, where we are always ready to answer questions and greet new friends and old ones!!
