Lawn Chamomile(Chamaemelum nobile 'Treneague') Herb in 9cm Pot
Lawn Chamomile as the name suggests is the variety of chamomile to buy if a lawn is what you really want it is a mat-forming evergreen plant which has tiny aromatic leaves that form a dense carpet of green, and will not flower, making it more suitable for using as a lawn. Lawn Chamomile can only be propagated by runners or cuttings. In any case it is better planted in a drift and certainly where it can be walked on, brushed past or crushed gently to allow the calming aroma to be released. Chamomile is a wonderful low growing plant (never gets higher than 30cm) that grows wild in the pastures and prairies, or where other grasses flourish. As a result, it is fully hardy and prefers well drained soils in full sun.
Herb Usage
Lawn Chamomile is popularly used as a calming, stress relieving tea, chamomile also assists digestion and the flowers and leaves have been used for a range of complaints, from nappy rash to anger management. The essential oils are important in cosmetic products like conditioners, and also feature in the arsenal of the aromatherapist. If you want to use chamomile for its aromatherapy benefits then the standard Chamaemelum nobile is the better variety as the properties are in the flower.

Great little plants and fantastic service.
My chamomile arrived with very secure packaging, and the little plants themselves were perfect. It only took a few minutes to unwrap them, and leave them to stand for a while, before planting in the soil. They are already growing well. Very much recommend Hooks Green Herbs.
