Variegated Silver Mint (Mentha longifolia variegata) Herb plant 9 cm pot
Variegated Silver Mint is a native of Europe, but has been naturalised worldwide. The silvery-green downy leaves of this spreading perennial mean it is more of an ornamental than culinary plant, but the leaves still have that distinctive menthol flavour. Variegated Silver Mint is not as virulent as Silver Mint.
Herb Uses
Variegated Silver mint will grow to 45-60cm tall. It is a favourite with flower arrangers producing mauve flowers in August / September.
